ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

MASTHEAD

Separated by an extra-wide grass verge with a playground, our housing estate is located at an arterial road of the city.

Across the big road there is a hummock. You can view a section of the estate from that hummock.

When I was looking at the estate from the bottom of the hummock, the houses didn't look small and toylike anymore, but rather like scenery, which you passed by. I didn't have a complete view of the ambience anymore .

In relation to the advance direction sign the small houses, which were located a little bit behind it, were still looking low.
For further information about the advance direction sign see Angels of Vision 1

That's a view which a car driver would perhaps get, if he glimpsed at the estate from the street. From this angle it caught my eyes that there were satellite dishes on many roof ridges.

If somebody only caught a glimpse of the houses, they would seem quite uniform to him.

It was only when I entered the narrow path between the two rows of houses that I was able to realize not only the differences between the houses, but also the confining ambience. There were houses which had a facing of pale bricks.Several bays had been extended, other ones not.

The occupants had planted the gardens differenty. They tried to moderate the narrowness and stereotypy of the estate by stressing their individuality. At a far distance I made out the stone bulk of an apartment block which sheltered the estate from the next big road.
